NFL Recap: Denver Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Defensive Affair

In a defensive struggle this weekend, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a close win over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz kicked the late go-ahead field goal to secure the ugly win.

Dominant Display Wins Game

Despite registering nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following conceding a safety in the third quarter. Remarkably, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 offensive yards throughout the contest.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, engineered a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's 27-yard kick with approximately five minutes remaining.

Historic Struggles for Jets Attack

In spite of their horrendous performance, the Jets still had the ball with a chance to score a possible victory. But Fields was sacked on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn opted to attempt the conversion instead of calling on kicker Nick Folk for a long kick.

Fields had difficulties throughout, connecting on just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. The Jets finished with minus-10 passing yards, the fewest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was completely absent," the coach stated following the game.
